Dr. Asim Khan

Dr. Asim Khan, M.D.

Dr. Khan is a co-founder of the Arizona Pain and Spine Institute.

He is a native of Arizona and has returned to his hometown of Phoenix to practice medicine.

After attending Tolleson Union High School, he went on to study biology at Arizona State University. He then went on to complete his medical degree at Ross University School of Medicine.

Dr. Khan completed his training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Chicago.

He then went on to complete an interventional pain medicine fellowship at Case Western Reserve University in Ohio and is ABMS Board Certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Pain Medicine.

Dr. Khan’s areas of interest include the management of acute and chronic spinal disorders, complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS), neuromodulation, and sports medicine. During his training Dr. Khan had the opportunity to work with NCAA athletes at the University of Illinois in Chicago as well as at Arizona State University. Dr. Khan has provided coverage at NCAA events as well as numerous running events in the Chicago land area.

Dr. Daniel Ryklin, M.D.

Dr. Daniel Ryklin is the co-founder of Arizona Pain and Spine Institute.

He is one of the few fellowship trained pain physicians in the country with a background in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

A native of Belarus, Dr. Ryklin came to the United States at age 14 to realize his dream of becoming a doctor.

After completing his specialty training in Chicago and fellowship training in Berkeley, Dr. Ryklin decided to relocate to the Phoenix area to provide cutting edge, comprehensive pain management.

Dr. Ryklin’s areas of expertise include the management of acute and chronic spinal disorders, electrodiagnostic medicine, and musculoskeletal medicine.

Dr. Ryklin believes in a multidisciplinary approach to the treatment of chronic pain and encourages his patients to play an active role in managing their condition. Because of his background in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Dr. Ryklin is skilled in recognizing biomechanical and functional weaknesses.  He frequently utilizes the expertise of yoga instructors and physical therapists to help his patients achieve a more functional and productive life.

Liza Lim MSN, FNP-BC

Liza is a graduate of University of the East Ramon Magasaysay in the Phillipines with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She got her Masters of Science as a Family Nurse Practitioner at the University of Phoenix in California. With over 10 years of nursing experience and a passion for Pain Management she comes to Arizona Pain and Spine Institute with a vast knowledge of interventional pain management treatments.

Liza is ANCC Family Nurse Practitioner Board Certified and a member of the Arizona Nurses Association as well as the American Academy of Pain Management.

Liza’s expertise is diagnosing and developing a treatment plan that ultimately increases her patient’s quality of life.

Yolanda Smith, RN, MSN, FNP-C

Yolanda is a Family Nurse Practitioner certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She earned her Masters in Nursing/ Family Nurse Practitioner degree from the University of Phoenix. Yolanda is a native of St. Louis, Missouri. She has lived in Arizona for 15 years. She enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons.

Yolanda has over 18 years healthcare experience in Telemetry, Surgical, Ortho/ Rehabilitation and Palliative Care, which has provided a foundation for her passion of nursing.

She focuses on delivering holistic care and a positive healthcare experience for her patients.

Sarah Galloway

Sarah Galloway, MSN, FNP-C

Sarah is an Arizona and AANP board certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She graduated with her Masters of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner from the University of Cincinnati.

Sarah has experience working with active duty military members and their families prior to joining Arizona Pain and Spine Institute. Before moving to Arizona, her husband was stationed at the Presidio of Monterey in California where she was a provider for the Army Health Clinic at Defense Language Institute. She brings with her knowledge of pain medication management, rehabilitation management, and holistic care. She does have knowledge of the requirements of the physical fitness standards and medication regulations for our active duty population as well as safe and effective treatment options for all patients.

Sarah's passion is helping patients manage both acute and chronic pain to achieve a higher quality of life in a safe and effective manner.
